What’s Included in a Luke’s Plumbing Inspection
When Luke’s performs a whole-home plumbing inspection, we go well beyond a visual scan. Here’s what our licensed plumbers evaluate during a full inspection:
Water Pressure Check
We measure pressure at multiple points throughout your home. High pressure is one of the most common hidden causes of fixture wear, joint failures, and appliance damage, and it’s easy to miss without testing.
Pipe & Connection Inspection
We examine accessible pipes and connections for corrosion, mineral buildup, signs of prior leaks, and material conditions — paying particular attention in older Houston homes where galvanized steel or cast iron may still be present.
Water Heater Assessment
We inspect the water heater for sediment buildup, anode rod condition, proper temperature and pressure relief valve function, and signs of corrosion or inefficiency. Houston’s hard water is especially hard on water heaters.
Drain Flow Testing
We run water through every drain in the home and observe flow rate and drainage behavior — identifying partial blockages and slow drains before they become full backups.
Fixture & Valve Evaluation
Every toilet, faucet, and shutoff valve in the home gets checked for leaks, proper sealing, and full function — including the main shutoff valve and individual supply valves under sinks and behind toilets.
Leak Detection Scan
We perform a leak detection scan to identify hidden moisture and pressure loss in supply lines — finding leaks that haven’t yet surfaced visibly but are already causing damage or wasting water.
Visual Sewer Line Assessment
We assess accessible cleanouts and evaluate drainage behavior throughout the home for signs of sewer line issues — including root intrusion, partial blockages, and flow irregularities.
