Whether you’re building a new house or replacing an old AC system, here are some advantages of modern air conditioning installation in Houston, TX:
Choosing the right air conditioner is about more than picking a brand or size. Houston homes need cooling systems that can handle long summers, high humidity, and heavy seasonal use.
Luke’s will help you evaluate important factors such as:
We install and service high-quality air conditioning equipment from trusted brands known for efficiency, durability, and comfort. Our go-to brands include Lennox, Ruud, Armstrong, and Goodman.
Choosing the right air conditioning system depends on your home’s layout, ductwork, comfort goals, and budget. Luke’s Plumbing & Air Conditioning can help you compare your options and choose a system designed for Houston’s heat and humidity.
Best for homes with existing ductwork, central AC provides reliable whole-home cooling. It is one of the most common options for Houston homeowners who want consistent comfort throughout the house.
Ductless systems are ideal for homes without ductwork, additions, garages, converted spaces, or rooms that are difficult to cool. They provide efficient, targeted comfort without major duct installation.
Heat pumps provide both cooling and heating in one system, making them a practical option for Houston’s hot summers and mild winters. They can be a strong choice for homeowners who want year-round efficiency.
Zoning can help manage different comfort needs throughout the home, especially in larger houses, two-story homes, or spaces with uneven temperatures.
Not sure which system is best? Luke’s can evaluate your home and recommend an AC installation option that fits your comfort needs, efficiency goals, and budget.
Faster service. Special pricing. No-stress maintenance. We built this plan for loyal customers who want less hassle and more peace of mind—all from a team that treats you like one of their own.

The cost of AC installation in Houston can vary based on your home, your comfort goals, and the type of system being installed. A simple replacement with similar equipment may be more straightforward, while projects involving ductwork changes, electrical updates, zoning, or a different system type can affect the overall investment.
Several factors can influence the cost of a new AC system, including:
Although a new air conditioner is a significant investment, the right system can provide better comfort, improved humidity control, fewer repair concerns, and lower energy use over time.
Luke’s Plumbing & Air Conditioning provides clear recommendations and straightforward estimates, so you can choose an AC installation option that fits your Houston home, comfort needs, and budget.
When you choose Luke’s Plumbing & Air Conditioning for air conditioning installation in Houston, you get a team focused on proper sizing, clean workmanship, and long-term performance.
A new air conditioning system is an important investment, but replacing your AC does not have to put your comfort on hold. Luke’s Plumbing & Air Conditioning offers financing options to help make AC installation and replacement more manageable for Houston homeowners.
Ask our team about available financing when you schedule your estimate. We can help you explore options that fit your home, comfort needs, and budget.
Signs that indicate you need to replace your air conditioner in Houston include frequent breakdowns, inefficient cooling, consistently high energy bills, uneven cooling throughout your home, and the age of your unit (typically over 10-15 years). Houston’s extreme climate is particularly hard on air conditioning systems, shortening their lifespan compared to milder regions. If your system struggles to keep up during our hottest months despite regular maintenance, it’s worth considering a replacement for improved comfort and efficiency.
This decision depends on several factors. If your AC is old (over 10-15 years), needs frequent repairs, or isn’t adequately cooling your Houston home, replacement is often more economical long-term. However, if your system is relatively new with a minor, isolated issue, repair might be the better option. Luke’s Plumbing & Air Conditioning can evaluate your specific situation, considering the repair costs versus the benefits of a new, more efficient system designed for Houston’s demanding climate, helping you make the most cost-effective decision.
The best system for your Houston home depends on several factors including your home’s size, layout, insulation quality, and your personal preferences. Central air conditioning systems work well for most Houston homes with existing ductwork. Ductless mini-splits offer excellent zoned cooling efficiency for homes without ducts or for adding cooling to specific areas. Heat pumps provide both heating and cooling, which can be ideal for Houston’s mild winters. Our experts will recommend the perfect system based on your home’s specific needs and Houston’s unique climate challenges.
Proper sizing is crucial for Houston homes—an undersized unit won’t cool effectively during our intense summers, while an oversized unit causes humidity issues and wastes energy. We determine the correct size based on multiple factors: your home’s square footage, ceiling height, insulation quality, window efficiency, local climate factors specific to your Houston neighborhood, and your family’s cooling preferences. Luke’s professional load calculation ensures you get precisely the right sized system for optimal performance and energy efficiency in Houston’s demanding climate.
Most standard air conditioning installations in Houston homes take 1-2 days to complete. Simple replacements where we’re swapping an old unit for a new one of similar type might take just 4-8 hours. More complex installations involving ductwork modifications, electrical upgrades, or installing a completely different system type might take 2-3 days. Luke’s Plumbing & Air Conditioning works efficiently to minimize disruption to your home during Houston’s hot months, and we’ll provide a specific timeline based on your project’s unique requirements.
To prepare for your AC replacement, clear the areas around both indoor and outdoor units, removing any obstacles and ensuring a clear path for our installation team. Secure pets in a safe area away from work zones, and if possible, set your thermostat to “off” before we arrive. Luke’s Plumbing & Air Conditioning will handle everything else, including safely removing your old unit, setting up the new one, and making sure everything is running efficiently to combat Houston’s heat before we leave.
The cost of AC installation in Houston depends on the system type, size, efficiency rating, ductwork needs, installation complexity, and any additional comfort upgrades. Luke’s can evaluate your home, explain your options, and provide a clear estimate before work begins.
Yes. Luke’s Plumbing & Air Conditioning offers financing options to help make AC replacement and installation more manageable. Ask our team about available financing when you schedule your estimate.
Proper AC sizing is essential for comfort, efficiency, and humidity control. An undersized system may struggle to cool your home, while an oversized system can cycle too quickly, waste energy, and leave indoor humidity too high. Luke’s performs a careful evaluation to help recommend the right system size.
The best system depends on your home, ductwork, insulation, and comfort goals. Many Houston homeowners benefit from properly sized central AC systems, variable-speed equipment, heat pumps, zoning, or ductless mini-splits. Luke’s can help you compare options based on comfort, efficiency, and humidity control.
Once your new air conditioner is installed, routine maintenance helps keep it running efficiently, reliably, and ready for Houston’s long cooling season. Even high-quality equipment benefits from regular inspections, cleaning, and tune-ups to help protect performance over time.
Scheduling AC maintenance in Houston after installation can help reduce wear and tear, support better energy efficiency, and lower the risk of unexpected repair needs. It also gives technicians a chance to catch small issues early and keep your system operating the way it should.
With regular maintenance from Luke’s Plumbing & Air Conditioning, you can help protect your new AC system, extend its lifespan, and keep your Houston home comfortable year after year.
When it is time for a new AC system, proper installation matters. The right equipment must be sized correctly, installed carefully, and optimized for your home’s layout and Houston’s climate.
